Q. What is MDpocket?
A. MDpocket is a pocket size quick medical reference guide used by today's medical students, interns and residents. Our reference guides have been specially designed to meet the needs of all healthcare students (medical, osteopathic, physician assistants), as well as, residents and interns. MDpocket has information that no other reference guide contains with details that will help you be more efficient and bettter focused on your patients.
MDpocket Medical Reference Guide: Medical Student edition has been in publication since 2004 and focuses on what many students have told us as the most daily used medical information useful to students, interns, and residents. Truely a great book with information on how to write an H &P (history and physical) exam, SOAP note examples for all the major specialties, how to sections on admission orders, delivery notes, post-op notes, fluid calculations, lab values, EKG interpretation, and much more. A great pocket reference book for an ambulatory or hospital rotation.
MDpocket Medical Reference Guide: Resident edition released in 2006 as a totally different book from our Medical Student version that focuses on more of the details not provided in our Medical Student guide. It has treatment guidelines for Sepsis, Pneumonia, and supportive material on interpreting chest X-rays and EKGs. Packed with more information to make you better and more efficient at taking care of your patients. This is the book you want to have in your pocket while working in the hospital, it will guide you through procedures (thoracentesis, paracentesis, lumbar punctures) and it will give you the quick pocket medical information not in our reference guides.
DOpocket Medical Reference Guide: Osteopathic edition release in 2007 is similar to the resident guide, but adds specific information for osteopathic students, interns and residents not seen in our Medical Student or Resident reference guides. We consider DOpocket a hybrid between the Medical Student and Resident versions with specific modifications to incorporate the osteopathic principles and exams. It is currently one of our largest pocket reference guide. Included within this guide is detailed Chapman reflexes and points, specialized history and physical exam section focusing on the osteopathic exam and treatment procedures.
